One of the great things about living in the Bay Area is that you have plenty of excellent country clubs to choose from. The only downside is that it can be hard to know which options are the top choices if you’re new to the area. We’ve narrowed down the best options for you, and summarized below are the top three country clubs in the Tri-Valley area located near Danville real estate.
The Club at Castlewood
You’ll enjoy two distinct golf courses along with luxurious member-only amenities when you join the
Club at Castlewood. Each golf course is unique in its own respect, but what they have in common is a great pace of play and easy access for all members. The Hill Course rewards aggressive players without proving to be too challenging for more novice golfers. You’ll have your choice of four tees to play from with a maximum yardage of 6,219 on the par-70 course. The Valley Course offers breathtaking scenery and the opportunity to hit long shots with extra roll. The championship tees play at 6,756 yards, or you can choose from one of the four other tee boxes when you play on the par-72 Valley course. Members can also enjoy the on-site tennis and pickleball courts along with a brand new state-of-the-art fitness and aquatic center.
The Club at Ruby Hill
The course at Ruby Hill is the only Jack Nicklaus-designed golf course in all of Northern California.
Club at Ruby Hill members enjoy a weekly Sunday champagne brunch with delicious made-to-order omelets and a special carving station. Throughout the week you can participate in various leagues and clubs along with regularly scheduled winemakers’ dinners.
The par-72 course plays longer than most at 7,478 yards. If you prefer a shorter course, you have six different tee boxes to choose from as you begin your round. Most of the higher handicap holes are on the back nine, including the number-one handicap hole 15. The 436-yard par four will test each golfer’s precision and accuracy.
Blackhawk Country Club
You’ll find two 18-hole championship golf courses at
Blackhawk Country Club along with a new 10,000-square-foot fitness and wellness center. Members also enjoy delicious meals from the on-site restaurant. The mission of Blackhawk Country Club is to provide enjoyable golf and country club experiences in a family-oriented environment dedicated to the highest levels of quality and service.
The Lakeside course plays at 6,718 yards from the back tees with six different options to choose from. It’s rated by the NCGA as one of the hardest courses to play in Northern California. You’ll marvel at the beauty of the island green on the 18th hole. The Falls course plays slightly longer at 6,732 yards. The course was designed by Ted Robinson and features five lakes along with a waterfall near the 11th green.
