Dublin is a suburban city of the East (San Francisco) Bay and Tri-Valley regions of the Alameda County. It was referred to as "Dublin" in reference to the city of Dublin in Ireland because of the large number of Irish who lived there.
In 2013, Dublin was the second fastest-growing city in the state of California, behind only Santa Clarita. In 2019, census data showed Dublin as one of the fastest growing cities in the country. The population was 46,063 (2010 census), and the 2017 estimate at 60,939. In 2018, Dublin was ranked #7 in Money's list of "The Best Places to Live".
Dublin is known for the historic farming community and historic church building in west Dublin. The Echo Park community was built in the late sixties, and the Triangle neighborhood was build in the early sixties. Today Dublin has exceeded it’s intended population growth with just a handful of original homeowners living in the area.
Dublin has a reasonably strong public school district. It is known for its amazing school system. Its high school has academies for students who know what they wish to specialize in from medical to engineering to culinary.
Dublin was formerly home to the headquarters of Sybase, Inc (now part of SAP SE) and is currently home to the headquarters for Callidus Cloud, Ross Stores, Medley Health, Challenge Dairy, and Arlen Ness. It will also become home to Patelco Credit Union.
